But wait…there’s more! Live one-on-one Critiques

As an exciting bonus, our faculty are doing a limited number of critiques. You’ll submit your work by September 24, 2022 and then meet at the conference for an insight packed one-on-one. Critiques are an additional $60 for conference attendees.

Check out what our faculty is critiquing and add one to your registration before they sell out!

 

Rebecca Balcárcel – Rebecca is accepting middle grade manuscripts. She would like to see first chapters. Please submit your first chapter according to the guidelines below.

Alexandra Boiger – Alexandra is accepting illustration portfolios or picture book dummies. For portfolios: limit your portfolio to your best 12-15 pieces and submit as a pdf. Please be mindful of your file size. For picture book dummies: please submit your dummy as a pdf by the date below. You should also bring a physical copy of your dummy to your critique.

Nancy Churnin – Nancy is accepting picture book biographies only. Please submit your entire manuscript according to the guidelines below.

Maria Modugno – Maria is accepting picture book manuscripts and picture-book focused illustration portfolios. Picture Book Authors: Please submit 3-5 of your best manuscripts. Illustrators: please submit a link to your online portfolio or website. Please note: critiques with Maria are priced at $100. 

Sarah Stephens – Sarah is accepting picture book, chapter book, and middle grade manuscripts. Picture Book Authors: Please submit your entire manuscript according to the guidelines below. Chapter Book and Middle Grade Authors: Please submit your first chapter according to the guidelines below.

Ann Rose  – Ann is accepting young adult manuscripts. Please submit a query and the first ten pages of your manuscript according to the guidelines below.

 

Manuscript Guidelines: Please submit your submission as a Word doc using standard 1″ margins and 12 pt font. Please include your name and contact information on your manuscript.  Picture book authors should submit their full manuscript. Authors of longer works should submit the first chapter of their manuscript.

Critique submissions must be submitted to northtexas-ara@scbwi.org by September 24, 2022. 

Please do not send any additional notes or materials for the faculty. Any additional materials will NOT be passed along.
