The national SCBWI website has wonderful resources to help guide writers and illustrators as they pursure their dreams.

THE BOOK contains new and essential articles such as:

 – maximizing social media

– creating book trailers

– best practices in independent publishing, and grassroots promotion

– up-to-the-minute Market Survey, which includes a comprehensive house by house listing of editors, art directors and key personnel.

– Other  directories include: The International Market Survey, The Book Reviewers Directory, The Agents Directory, and a unique feature called Edited By, in which editors have been personally surveyed to provide a history of their recent acquisitions.

– Key resources include: an annotated bibliography of essential reference books for any aspiring children’s book author or illustrator, as well as a current listing of bloggers, reviewers, grants and awards.

SCBWI has produced three short videos to help members make use of all of the benefits SCBWI offers:  Welcome to SCBWISCBWI Website Training and SCBWI: Frequently Asked Questions. SCBWI Florida member and Assistant Regional Advisor Curtis Sponsler produced the videos. Take a look to learn something new.

SCBWI has a benefit for SCBWI members who are publishing new books – BOOK LAUNCH PARTIES (BLP). For a $25 fee, authors and illustrators can choose from 16 beautiful templates. There are three launch parties scheduled per year. SCBWI will design a page for you for $75. There are step-by-step instructions and an instructional video to help you design a spectacular page. Make it funny, smart, creative, unsual – everything to represent you and your book. If you get stuck during your design, call Sarah or Kayla on 323.782.1010.  #SCBWIPARTY

Visit the party and look up the North Texas members who launched their books!
