Are you a Middle Grade or Young Adult author with a work-in-progress that you’d like some feedback on?

Join us on June 5th from 1:30-3:00pm for a virtual open critique!  Open to all SCBWI members!

Critiques will be round-table style, meaning every attendee will both share their work and comment on other’s. Each “table” will be led by an experienced facilitator to keep things on track and offer their own comments. Our fabulous facilitators are Michelle Schusterman (MG Group) and Carol Barreyre (YA Group). Learn more about them below!

Important Details: In order to give everyone a chance to receive feedback, space is limited to 8 participants per group (Middle Grade or Young Adult). Groups will run simultaneously. To facilitate the critique, participants will be asked to share 5 pages (plus a short novel synopsis, if necessary for context) with the group ahead of time. Instructions for submitting are below. DEADLINE TO REGISTER/SUBMIT IS MAY 31 .

Email your submission as a single Word document (.doc, .docx) attachment to northtexas-ara@scbwi.org. If you have specific questions on formatting, please use standard manuscript formatting, explained on Page 8 in SCBWI’s The Book.

Please use: Subject Line: June [YA/MG] Open Critique; File Name: Your Last Name_Manuscript Title.
