The Texas SCBWI webinar series presents…

Literary Agent Rachel Orr in a webinar you won’t want to miss!

SEE ME! READ ME! LOVE ME! BUY ME!: QUERYING AND PITCHING PUBLISHING PROFESSIONALS

When: Tuesday, April 26, 7:00-8:30

Once you've polished up your manuscript or put the finishing touches on your illustration portfolio, what’s the next step? In this 90-minute webinar, Rachel Orr of Prospect Agency will discuss the process of querying publishing professionals.

Rachel Orr will cover query letters for all types of children's book submissions, including picture books, novels, non-fiction and illustrations. She’ll show examples of query letters from her current clients—pointing out what caught her eye—and talk about what kind of information to avoid in query letters as well. She’ll also talk about the difference between queries and pitches, and discuss the best time in your career to start the querying process.

Attendees may also submit to Rachel Orr after the webinar and will be given a code.

Jointly sponsored by all the SCBWI chapters in Texas—Austin, Brazos Valley, Houston, North Texas and Southwest Texas. Our goal is to provide the best learning opportunities for a low cost to members and non-members.

Registration will open Wednesday, April 13 at 8am. The fee for the webinar is $10 for members, $35 for non-members. (Nonmembers: Check out our member benefits HERE. We’d love to have you as part of our SCBWI family!) Critiques are sold out, but the webinar has plenty of space.

Members: Login to get the discounted rate. (If you select "Pay Offline" you cannot pay by credit card. You must select the PayPal option to pay by credit card.)

Don't worry if you can't participate live! Registration includes access to a recording of the webinar for two months after the airing. The replay will be available about 24 hours after the webinar.  You must register to have access to the recording. A link will be emailed to all registered attendees prior to the live event. The recording will be accessible at that same link 24 hours after the live webinar.
